With only one week remaining before returning home for some Christmas festivities, my team (the Swaziland team) has been spending time with the Kenya team and the Jeffery's Bay team attending a leadership conference and ministering in the Jeffery's Bay community. I've certainly enjoyed my time within walking distance of the Indian Ocean! I am quite certain that Africa is one of the most beautiful and diverse places I have ever set foot on. Pictures will never do justice...
As we debrief our experiences and begin to prepare for our return to the U.S., I cannot help but realize just how much I have learned and how much my life has been changed. It is overwhelming to process all that I have seen, done, and experienced. During my time at home, I intend to continue posting blogs to fill you all in on the details that I've wanted to share, but have not been able to post because of my limited internet access. The lessons I've learned and the things I'm looking forward to when I return to Swaziland in January are too good to leave out. :) For all of my faithful blog readers, I would not want to let you down! I also have lots of pictures that I will begin to upload when time and fast internet connections permit.
For now, I've added a few new photos which you can view by clicking on the "Browse my Photos" link. I'm sure that the "oven" and "shower" will bring a few laughs. I also had many requests to see the goats, so I posted my favorite: "goat licking water source." You can also take a look at the Indian Ocean, my Swazi hut, as well as the Jeffery's Bay sleeping arrangements. The only thing that could make these photos better would if you were in them too!
I'd like to thank all of you who offered your concern and condolences for my toothbrush...
I'll be seeing many of you over the next several weeks... I can't wait!!
With love from Africa,
Katie Movic
