Katie Movic is back in Swaziland - where the cows don't have fences, the milk doesn't need to be refrigerated, and the internet is slower than most of you can even imagine! :)  This is the location that I will call home for all of my time here after Christmas, so it is exciting to be settling in.

My team and I are living on a rural homestead for these next 2 weeks.  For those of you who have been waiting for this moment:  Yes, I am living in a circular hut with a thatched roof.  Haha, our new home can best be described as "barnyard bliss."  Much to my excitement, we live amidst dozens of cows, uncountable goats, and all the chickens you can dream of.  These animals come and go as they please across the Swazi countryside.  I have some excellent photographs of myself chasing the baby chicks, posing with the goats, and hanging out with the majestic cows... You'll all have to wait to see these, as uploading pictures on this particular computer could take the rest of my afternoon. ;)  It's a never ending petting zoo. . . with no electricity or running water, and an oven that reminds me of the Easybake from my younger years.  This is my life.  And I'm loving it.

The purpose of these next 2 weeks for myself and for each of my teammates is to begin to decide how we will spend the majority of our next 4 months in Africa.  There are so many opportunities that I am very eager to explore.  I am especially interested in doing ministry with the high school aged girls here.  There is a great need for them to be mentored, loved, taught, and protected.  I am also looking into the possibility of teaching at some of the informal schools in the squatter camps.  I hope to even teach some dance classes - as interested as I am in the cultural dances here, the South African and Swazi people are even more interested in the dancing I do.  It will be an opportunity for a fun trade and an excellent way to build relationships.  Of course the other options for ministry here are endless:  Working in hospitals, taking care of orphans, and even visiting with local university students.  I am praying that God will show me exactly where he wants me to be and exactly how he wants me to serve.  Please join me in asking God for this direction.  In all that I do, I hope to pour out the love, grace, and truth, that God has poured out on me through Jesus.

Let it not be what I do; but rather, who I am.

Learning to really live,
Katie Movic
